Safeguarding
At Worcestershire Rock Schools, the safety and wellbeing of every young musician comes first. Since 1997 we've given children and young people a place to learn, play in a band and perform — and keeping them safe while they do it underpins everything we do.
This page explains how we do that, and who to contact if you ever have a concern.
Our Commitment
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people who take part in our activities, and we expect everyone who works with us to share that commitment. We recognise that the welfare of the child is paramount in everything we do.
Who to contact
Our Designated Safeguarding Lead is Jess Allen, supported by Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead Rhys Stansfield. If you have any worry about the safety or welfare of a child, please contact us: safeguarding@worcestershirerockschools.com
If a child is in immediate danger
If a child is in immediate danger, call the police on 999. You can also contact Worcestershire Children First (Family Front Door) on 01905 822666 during office hours, or 01905 768020 for out-of-hours emergencies. The NSPCC Helpline is available on 0808 800 5000, and children and young people can contact Childline free on 0800 1111.
our tutors
Every tutor who works with our young musicians holds an Enhanced DBS check with a children's barred-list check, and is required to complete recognised safeguarding training. We follow safer-recruitment practices for everyone who works with us.
